The Agriculture Minister says that this year the farmers have produced a large amount of mustard. For this, all the farmers deserve congratulations. Munda said that he has asked the concerned departments to buy mustard at the minimum support price (MSP). So that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling produce and they can get proper amount of produce.

Mustard will be purchased at MSP

In a briefing to the media, Munda further told that the government has prepared to purchase mustard under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) during the marketing season of Rabi crops. He said, "The interest of farmers for the government is paramount. If the price of mustard goes below the minimum support price (MSP), the government will buy mustard from the farmers on MSP. He said that necessary arrangements have also been made for this."

Instructed to complete all the preparations for the purchase

He said that central nodal agencies have already been instructed to be prepared for the purchase of mustard under PSS for the Rabi marketing season (RMS), so that farmers do not face any difficulty. He said, "Purchase approval under PSS from the states of Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Assam during Rabi marketing season-2023 was 28.24 LMT mustard."

Farmers will not have to face more problems

All mustard producing states have also been informed for RMS-2024, that if the current market price of mustard in the state is less than the notified MSP, then send a proposal for purchase of mustard under PSS in time. He said that the mustard MSP for RMS-2024 is Rs 5,650 per quintal. He said that it is the effort of the government that farmers can get the right price for their produce and do not have any problem in selling their products.

Wheat prices have risen again before Diwali, causing concern in the national capital Delhi where it has reached Rs 27,390 per metric ton in the wholesale market. It is expected that the prices may continue to rise in the coming days, as they did in January when wheat prices reached their highest level. Despite the Central Government's efforts, inflation has remained high, with one item's price rising as soon as another's falls. While the prices of tomatoes and green vegetables have gone down, wheat has become more expensive, potentially leading to food inflation. Traders have also noted that food imports are being affected by import duties, putting pressure on the government to remove export duties. As a result, the Central Government must release food items like wheat and rice from government reserves periodically to control inflation. The government must take proactive measures to control the prices of essential commodities, especially before the festive season, to provide relief to the common man.

Due to the increase in the price of wheat, the price of these food items will also increase.

According to agricultural experts, the demand for wheat has increased in the market due to festive days. At the same time, the supply of wheat has been greatly affected due to the increase in demand, due to which the prices have reached their highest level in 8 months. If this trend of increase in prices continues, retail inflation may increase further in the coming days. Wheat is a grain from which various types of food items are prepared. If the price of wheat increases, various food items including rotis, biscuits, pieces of bread, and cakes will become costlier.

40% import duty on wheat by the Government of India

The main thing is that the price of wheat in the national capital Delhi increased by 1.6% on Tuesday. Due to this, the price of wheat reached Rs 27,390 per metric ton in the wholesale market, which is the highest level since February 10. It is being said that wheat prices have increased by approximately 22% in the last six months. Also, Roller Floor Millers Federation President Pramod Kumar S has raised the demand with the Central Government to remove duty on wheat import. In fact, he has said that if the government removes the import duty on wheat, then its price can definitely come down. In fact, the Government of India has imposed a 40% import duty on wheat, and there does not seem to be any immediate plan to remove it.

Food prices will fall like this

Also, as of October 1, there were only 24 million metric tons of wheat in the government wheat stock. Which is much less compared to the five-year average of 37.6 million tonnes. However, the Center has procured 26.2 million tonnes of wheat from farmers in crop season 2023, short of the target of 34.15 million tonnes. At the same time, the Central Government estimates that wheat production in the crop season 2023-24 will be around 112.74 million metric tons. This will lead to a decline in the prices of food items.

Haryana government has started the process of procuring millet.FED (Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited) will first purchase millet in the mandis of Rewari, Kanina, Charkhi Dadri, Bhiwani and Kosli.It is said the procurement process would last commence from 1st October.

Following Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar's directives, the government has begun millet procurement. However, farmers are still waiting for the government to acquire their paddy. Paddy procurement may begin as early as October 1. Let us inform you that the millet purchase will be paid for under the state government's Bhavantar Bharpayee Scheme. The crop purchase funds will be sent straight to the farmers' bank accounts within 72 hours. Additionally, purchase of superior and average quality (FAQ) millet will be at the current market price. Additionally, this purchase will be made from farmers who are registered and validated on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora site.

Payment will be made under Bhavantar Compensation Scheme

Under the state government's Bhavantar Bharpayee Scheme, farmers would get the difference between the current market prices and the MSP. The crop purchase amount will be remitted straight to the farmers' bank accounts.

Paddy procurement to begin from October 1

Millet will cost Rs 1,900 per quintal, rather than the MSP of Rs 2,500. So far, private traders have maintained their procurement of Basmati rice of the 1509 kind at Rs 3,000 per quintal. Government acquisition of Parmal type paddy is expected to begin in the second week of October.

Purchasing is not possible in the markets of the district

According to a Market Committee representative, orders were provided to begin announcing market and paddy purchases on September 25th. However, the procedure has not yet been initiated by government entities in the mandis of various districts. The minimum support price for millet procurement is Rs 2,200. However, individual dealers buy millet at a rate of Rs 1,900 per quintal.

Farmers to bear loss of 300 rupees

Gaurav Tewatia, a Commission Agent Association official, criticised the officials for the delay in acquiring the Kharif crop. He claims that no formal agency has been selected to acquire millet. Because of this, farmers are losing Rs 300 each quintal. Farmers are also concerned about whether their losses would be paid under the Bhavantar Compensation Scheme.

Reason why millet would be bought at less prices

The registration system 888999 on the government's agricultural sale site has a mistake. At the same time, just 35% of paddy growers have been registered. As a result, most individuals may sell millet and paddy at a lower price than the MSP. Around 2,200 quintals of millet, 5,400 bales of cotton, and more than 20,000 quintals of Basmati paddy have arrived at the mandis. 

The Haryana government is also purchasing moong, oil seeds, millet and other food grains along with wheat and paddy by 367 markets. At present, maize, millet, cotton, sunflower, moong, groundnuts, arhar, urad, sesame, mustard, barley, grams and paddy are being bought in Haryana at MSP. Haryana has become the first state to buy 14 food grains at minimum support price ( MSP). From the State government side, the government is also purchasing moong, oil seeds, millet and other food grains along with wheat and paddy by 367 markets. At present, purchase of maize, millet, cotton, sunflower, moong, groundnuts, arhar, urad and sesame is being made on MSP. For your kind information, let you know that most states purchase only famous crops like wheat, paddy, cotton and sugarcane on MSP. But Haryana is the first state to purchase 14 crops on MSP. 

Compensation will be given at crop failure 

The Khattar government also talked about providing compensation to the farmers for their failed crops, which will directly be given in their accounts. State government took this step for the damaged crops of farmers due to excessive rain. He said, the state government is taking assessment of loss to farmers. Under this assessment, the government will transfer the compensation amount for the damaged crops to farmers directly in their accounts.

The Haryana government is making financial condition of farmers better

The Haryana government is making every possible effort in making farmers financially and socially stable. The state government is also putting up multiple schemes for this. A few of these schemes include credit card scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, dairy entrepreneurship development scheme ( DEDS), kisan tractor Yojna, Kisan Mitra Yojna, agricultural flight scheme, Pashu Kisan credit card scheme. Benefits to farmers from Meri Fasal- Mera Byora

The State government has issued this scheme on 5 July 2019. With the help of this scheme, farmers can upload complete details of their crops online on the internet. Along with this, farmers will also be able to upload the details of any damage caused to their crops. 

 Under the Agri Stack Scheme, digital survey of standing crops in 93 thousand measles in the district is to be done, which has been done of 13 thousand measles. This will facilitate easy compensation by the insurance company or the government for the crop damaged by the disaster. Through the digital survey, it will be known which crop the farmer has sown in his field.

This survey shows which crop the farmer has grown in his field. The records from the digital crop survey under the Agri Stack project will be safe online with the Agriculture Department and the government for real time survey of crops grown in the fields.

The Government is conducting surveys under the scheme

Compensation will be easily received by the insurance company or government for the crop damaged by the disaster. The government is conducting a survey under the Agri Stack scheme to accurately assess the production from sowing to production.
