The Punjab government has agreed to compensate farmers for crop loss. The administration of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has stated that farmers will receive compensation of Rs 6,800 per acre. The government has also provided Rs 86 crore towards this purpose. The settlement sum will soon be deposited to the farmers' accounts. However, in July, the government released Rs 103 crore as compensation into the accounts of farmers. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has undertaken this significant initiative to recompense farmers for their losses.

Millions of hectares of crops are damaged due to waterlogging.

According to statistics, Punjab had 44 percent more rainfall than the norm in July. Faridkot in Punjab experienced 256.2 mm more rainfall, while Mohali received 472.6 mm more rain. Similarly, Patiala and Rupnagar saw surplus rainfall of 71% and 107%, respectively. During the month of July, Tarn Taran had 151% more rainfall, while Jalandhar received 34% more. This generated a flood-like condition in several areas, and the fresh paddy crop sown on 6.25 lakh acres was flooded. In this scenario, the farmer brothers had to replant paddy on 2.75 lakh acres.

Farmers haven't gotten any help yet.
