Munda said that he has asked the concerned departments to buy mustard at the minimum support price (MSP). So that farmers do not face any difficulty in selling produce and they can get proper amount of produce.

Mustard will be purchased at MSP

In a briefing to the media, Munda further told that the government has prepared to purchase mustard under the Price Support Scheme (PSS) during the marketing season of Rabi crops. He said, "The interest of farmers for the government is paramount. If the price of mustard goes below the minimum support price (MSP), the government will buy mustard from the farmers on MSP. He said that necessary arrangements have also been made for this."

Instructed to complete all the preparations for the purchase

He said that central nodal agencies have already been instructed to be prepared for the purchase of mustard under PSS for the Rabi marketing season (RMS), so that farmers do not face any difficulty. He said, "Purchase approval under PSS from the states of Gujarat, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Assam during Rabi marketing season-2023 was 28.24 LMT mustard."

Farmers will not have to face more problems

All mustard producing states have also been informed for RMS-2024, that if the current market price of mustard in the state is less than the notified MSP, then send a proposal for purchase of mustard under PSS in time. He said that the mustard MSP for RMS-2024 is Rs 5,650 per quintal. He said that it is the effort of the government that farmers can get the right price for their produce and do not have any problem in selling their products.

According to media reports, the central government may increase the MSP of wheat by 3 percent to 10 percent for the coming year. If the central government does this, then the minimum support price of wheat can reach Rs 2300 per quintal. However, currently, the MSP of wheat is Rs 2125 per quintal. Apart from this, the government can also increase the MSP of lentils by up to 10 percent.

This decision will be taken for the marketing season 2024- 25

For your information, let us tell you that the MSP of mustard and sunflower can be increased by 5 to 7 percent. It is expected that in the coming week, the Central Government may approve to increase in the MSP of Rabi, pulses, and oilseed crops. The main thing is that the decision to increase the MSP will be taken for the marketing season 2024-25.

A total of 23 crops have been included in MSP.

At the same time, the supply of wheat has been greatly affected due to the increase in demand, due to which the prices have reached their highest level in 8 months. If this trend of increase in prices continues, retail inflation may increase further in the coming days. Wheat is a grain from which various types of food items are prepared. If the price of wheat increases, various food items including rotis, biscuits, pieces of bread, and cakes will become costlier.

40% import duty on wheat by the Government of India

The main thing is that the price of wheat in the national capital Delhi increased by 1.6% on Tuesday. Due to this, the price of wheat reached Rs 27,390 per metric ton in the wholesale market, which is the highest level since February 10. It is being said that wheat prices have increased by approximately 22% in the last six months. Also, Roller Floor Millers Federation President Pramod Kumar S has raised the demand with the Central Government to remove duty on wheat import. In fact, he has said that if the government removes the import duty on wheat, then its price can definitely come down. In fact, the Government of India has imposed a 40% import duty on wheat, and there does not seem to be any immediate plan to remove it.

Food prices will fall like this

Also, as of October 1, there were only 24 million metric tons of wheat in the government wheat stock. Which is much less compared to the five-year average of 37.6 million tonnes. However, the Center has procured 26.2 million tonnes of wheat from farmers in crop season 2023, short of the target of 34.15 million tonnes. At the same time, the Central Government estimates that wheat production in the crop season 2023-24 will be around 112.74 million metric tons. This will lead to a decline in the prices of food items.

Procurement of paddy at minimum support price has started in Uttar Pradesh. The government has made concrete arrangements at the paddy purchasing centre. However, very few farmers are coming to the purchase center to sell paddy. Now in such a situation it is being said that after the next one week there will be intensity in the procurement of paddy. Because this time due to late arrival of monsoon, farmers had started planting paddy late. In fact, till now the paddy crop has not been completely ripe in many areas. At the same time, farmers in western Uttar Pradesh were successful in early planting of paddy. Now in such a situation they are reaching the purchasing centers to sell paddy.

4000 purchasing centers have been established across the state for paddy procurement.

According to the government of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, two categories of paddy will be purchased from farmers for the crop season 2023-24. This includes ‘common’ and ‘grade A’ paddy. The special thing is that the MSP of 'Dhan Common' has been fixed at Rs 2183 per quintal. Whereas, ‘Grade A’ will be purchased at the rate of Rs 2203 per quintal. The special thing is that 4000 purchasing centers have been created in the entire state to purchase paddy.

It includes all the districts of Bareilly, Agra, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Aligarh, Meerut, Hardoi, Sitapur, Lakhimpur and Jhansi divisions of Lucknow division. In these districts, paddy will be purchased at MSP from October 1 to January 31.

This is followed by the number of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar Punjab, Haryana and Rajasthan. Currently, the central government has increased the price of wheat by Rs 150 per quintal in the MSP of wheat. After this, wheat MSP Rabi marketing season 2024-25 increased to Rs 2275 per quintal. Meaning that from the decision of PM Modi's cabinet, crores of farmers of Gujarat, Bihar, UP, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan will get a lot of benefit.

Where and how much mustard is produced in India

Similarly, Rajasthan is the top state of mustard yield in India. It has 46.7 percent participation in the total mustard produced in India. This means that Rajasthan produces only 46.7 percent mustard. This is followed by the number of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and West Bengal. At present, the central government has increased the minimum support price of mustard at a rate of Rs 200 per quintal. With this, the minimum support price of mustard has reached Rs 6550 per quintal. In such a situation, farmers of these states will get immense benefit.

Inflation will decline due to increasing mustard production area

Also, agricultural experts say that according to consumption in India, mustard yield is very low. In such a situation, edible oils have to be imported from abroad. However, the decision to increase the MSP by the Central Government has been taken at a proper time. The mustard sowing season is going on. At present, maize, millet, cotton, sunflower, moong, groundnuts, arhar, urad, sesame, mustard, barley, grams and paddy are being bought in Haryana at MSP. Haryana has become the first state to buy 14 food grains at minimum support price ( MSP). From the State government side, the government is also purchasing moong, oil seeds, millet and other food grains along with wheat and paddy by 367 markets. At present, purchase of maize, millet, cotton, sunflower, moong, groundnuts, arhar, urad and sesame is being made on MSP. Compensation will be given at crop failure 

The Khattar government also talked about providing compensation to the farmers for their failed crops, which will directly be given in their accounts. State government took this step for the damaged crops of farmers due to excessive rain. He said, the state government is taking assessment of loss to farmers. Under this assessment, the government will transfer the compensation amount for the damaged crops to farmers directly in their accounts.

The Haryana government is making financial condition of farmers better

The Haryana government is making every possible effort in making farmers financially and socially stable. The state government is also putting up multiple schemes for this. A few of these schemes include credit card scheme, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojna, dairy entrepreneurship development scheme ( DEDS), kisan tractor Yojna, Kisan Mitra Yojna, agricultural flight scheme, Pashu Kisan credit card scheme. The State government has issued this scheme on 5 July 2019. With the help of this scheme, farmers can upload complete details of their crops online on the internet. Along with this, farmers will also be able to upload the details of any damage caused to their crops. 

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has made a big announcement during the campaigning for Telangana assembly elections. "Farmers in Telangana are in deep debt. They are not getting any help from the government. Addressing the public and especially the farmers of the state, Priyanka Gandhi said that if the Congress forms the government in Telangana by winning the assembly elections, then the farmers will get the guarantee of MSP for crops. If the Congress forms its government in Telangana, the MSP to farmers will be fixed at Rs 2,500 per quintal for paddy, Rs 4,400 for soybean, Rs 2,200 for maize, Rs 4,000 for sugarcane, Rs 6,700 for arhar and Rs 6,500 per quintal for cotton.

Gifts to farmers and labourers

He also said that good days for farmers will begin once the Congress comes to power in Telangana. Along with this, the Congress General Secretary has made many other big announcements, under which women will be given the facility of gas cylinders and free bus travel for Rs 500 along with Rs 25,000 per month, while farmers will be provided financial assistance of Rs 15,000 annually. At the same time, this amount has been fixed at Rs 12 thousand annually for agricultural laborers. Apart from this, 200 units of free electricity, free land for construction of houses and Rs 5 lakh as well as Rs 4 thousand as monthly pension to the elderly have been announced.

In such a situation, this bet of the Congress can prove to be a big decision in the direction of its victory in the assembly elections. Polling for 119 Assembly seats in Telangana will be held on November 30 and the results will be declared on December 3.
